You Move A Lot

He was unimpressed with the choices I'd made
I was lying in the sun he was lying in the shade
leaving in the morning for New Mexico
I couldn't take a winter with too much snow

I was lending my feet to the southwest shores
I thought a lot about it, never been there before
He didn't want to be left behind

I said the truth is baby that the weather here is fine

You think a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my soul
Yeah you think a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my soul

I was drinking wine he was drinking gin
and I knew the situation that I'd got myself in
I told him right there by the riverside
as I saw the brown darken in his eyes

He picked at the grass and started to say
you can't keep living your life this way
you go out traveling all the time
not thinking about your future
with me in mind

Yeah you love a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my sould
You love a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my soul

So I said goodbye with my feet not my words,
and I can't help thinking that he might of over heard
I got holes that I need to fill
now I can't move forward by sitting still
Women like me they understand
how good feet feel on changing land

You move a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my soul
Yeah you move a lot when you're twenty years old
I can give you my heart, can't give you my soul
